Evan M. Schechter is a litigation attorney with experience handling personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance, commercial, and construction defect matters.
He has tried nearly fifty cases to verdict before juries in three states.
At Walsh Woodard, Evan contributes to the firm’s representation of individuals who have suffered injuries because of personal and professional negligence. His legal career has spanned Connecticut, Oregon, and Washington. Before joining Walsh Woodard, Evan practiced both independently and with several civil litigation firms. His experience includes drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement documents; conducting hundreds of depositions; working with clients, witnesses, and expert consultants; and preparing matters for arbitration, mediation, and trial.
Evan also founded and operated a licensed private investigation practice supporting attorneys in criminal defense and civil litigation matters. In that role, he located and interviewed witnesses, conducted background investigations, documented evidence, prepared case chronologies and investigative reports, served subpoenas, and testified when needed. This combined legal and investigative experience gives Evan a practical, detail-oriented approach to developing cases and understanding the circumstances affecting his clients.
